Weejuns

Even if you don't quite recognize the name, you'll know what they are immediately after seeing them. Weejuns are the original penny loafer made by Bass Shoes and are an American Icon which has been copied by virtually every shoe manufacturer since. Weejuns are a hand stitched mocassin loafer with a leather shoe bottom that come in three basic styles, the strap penny, beefroll penny and the kilt tassle loafer. They are essentially all the same shoe except with the style changes. Weejuns have been around since the 1930s seen in offices, college campuses and kickin' around on the city streets. Bass knew what he was doing when he designed them because Weejuns are a loafer that just gets more comfortable with each wearing. When the heel or soles start to wear out, don't even consider not getting them resoled. It's completely worth it. Weejuns are the shoes you will have for years and you'll want to get them in several styles.
